Approximate gross emoluments at the minimum of the scale are around Rs 1,50,000 for Grade C, Rs 1,20,000 for Grade B and Rs 90,000 for Grade A.
Age limit
The upper age limit is reckoned as on 14-11-2026 and differs by post (see the vacancy table above). Age relaxation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and other categories is applicable as per Government guidelines and the official notification.
Educational qualification
- Superintending Research Scientist: Ph.D. in Chemistry / Geology / Chemical Engineering / Petroleum Engineering with the prescribed Master's degree (minimum 60% marks) and at least 4 years of post-qualification relevant work experience.
- Senior Officer (Mechanical): Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering of minimum 4 years duration with at least 65% marks (certain allied branches such as Automation, Automobile, Production and similar are excluded - check the notification).
- Senior Officer (Petroleum): Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering / Technology (minimum 2 years) with at least 60% marks, with Engineering at graduation level.
- Senior Accounts Officer / Senior Internal Auditor: Associate Member of ICAI / ICMAI.
- Hindi Officer (Official Language): Post Graduate degree in Hindi with at least 3 years of post-qualification relevant work experience.
- Confidential Secretary: Graduate with a 1/2-year diploma in Secretarial Practice / Modern Office Management / Executive Assistant or equivalent, with knowledge of computer applications and at least 2 years of post-qualification experience.

- Nil for SC, ST, PwBD, EWS and Ex-Servicemen candidates.

Selection process
Selection is through a Computer Based Test (CBT) of 100 marks and a Personal Interview of 15 marks. The CBT contributes up to 85% of the final score: Final Score = (CBT marks out of 100 x 0.85) + Interview marks out of 15. Qualifying marks in the CBT are 50 out of 100 for UR posts and posts reserved for OBC (NCL) and EWS, and 40 out of 100 for posts reserved for SC, ST and PwBD. The CBT is tentatively scheduled for 28 December 2026 (the exact date will be intimated with the admit card).
