Age limit
Candidates must be 18 to 30 years of age as on 01-01-2027. For UR/EWS candidates, the date of birth should be between 02-01-1997 and 01-01-2009 (both dates inclusive). Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 10 years for PwBD (13 years OBC, 15 years SC/ST) and relaxation for Ex-servicemen after deduction of service rendered, as per the notice.
Educational qualification
- 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination with not less than 50% marks in aggregate from a recognised board.
- The 50% marks condition is not insisted upon for SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-servicemen candidates and for candidates holding qualifications higher than 12th (+2 stage).
Application fee
- Rs 500 for General and OBC candidates - Rs 400 is refunded after appearing in the 1st Stage CBT (minus bank charges).
- Rs 250 for SC/ST/Ex-servicemen/PwBD/Female/Transgender/Minorities/Economically Backward Class candidates - fully refunded after appearing in the 1st Stage CBT (minus bank charges).
- Payment is online only (internet banking, debit/credit card, UPI).
Selection process
Selection is through 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), 2nd Stage CBT, followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination. The typing skill test is dispensed with for this notice (CEN 07/2026).

How to apply
- Read the official notification (CEN 07/2026) fully (linked below) and keep your documents ready.
- Visit the unified official RRB website at rrb.indianrailways.gov.in between 15 October and 13 November 2026 and use the link given there for submission of the online application.
- Create an account with your active mobile number and email ID (OTPs are sent to them). If you already created an account for an earlier RRB notice, use the same login.
- Choose your RRB carefully (for example RRB Guwahati) and fill in the online application form for the post(s). Only one application to one RRB is allowed.
- Capture your live photograph during the application (plain white background, dark non-white clothing, eyes open). A pre-existing photo is not uploaded.
- Upload your scanned signature (black ink, running handwriting, JPG/JPEG) and, for SC/ST candidates wanting a free train travel pass, the scanned SC/ST certificate (PDF).
- Pay the application fee online and submit the form before 13 November 2026, 11.59 PM. Keep a copy of the submitted application.
Documents to upload
- Scanned signature in JPG/JPEG (black ink pen on white paper, running handwriting, minimum 100 DPI scan)
- Scanned SC/ST certificate in PDF (only for SC/ST candidates requesting the free train travel pass)
- Live photograph is captured by the portal during the application itself (computer webcam or phone front camera) - no photo file is needed
- Certificates for age, qualification, caste, PwBD and Ex-servicemen claims are verified later at Document Verification - keep the originals ready
Important conditions
- Only one application to one RRB is allowed; multiple applications are rejected.
- The fee refund is credited only after the candidate actually appears in the 1st Stage CBT.
- Details given in the Create an Account form (including mobile number and email ID) cannot be modified at any stage.
- Beware of fake websites and job racketeers; apply only through the official RRB website.
