Important exclusions and selection rules
- Standalone postgraduate study is not covered. Integrated graduation-plus-postgraduation courses can be eligible.
- Correspondence, part-time evening/night classes and Open University courses are not eligible. Self-study courses such as CA, CS and ICMAI are excluded.
- Students already receiving a scholarship from another Trust/Institution are not considered. The scheme makes an exception for State or Central Government scholarships.
- Selection is merit-based and subject to LIC's checks, divisional limits and scheme conditions. Family and tie-breaking rules apply; read the full scheme before applying.
- Renewal depends on results, passing all subjects, attendance and other scheme conditions. The rates above apply to new entrants, not automatically to earlier-year scholars.
Documents and application steps
- Read the official 2026 scheme and instructions. Check course, marks, passing year, income and other-scholarship conditions.
- Prepare your relevant marksheet, proof of 2026-27 admission and income certificate from a competent authority. The live form also asks for contact and bank details and the last four Aadhaar digits. Follow the upload instructions displayed there.
- Open the official application portal below and enter accurate details using an email and mobile number you can access.
- Check every field before submission. Save the acknowledgement email; it identifies the LIC Divisional Office handling your application.
- If shortlisted, respond to the Divisional Office's document request within its time limit. An acknowledgement is not confirmation of selection.
The original scheme PDF still prints 30 September 2026. The current official LIC foundation page explicitly extends the deadline to 15 October 2026. No closing time is stated on that extension page; do not assume a midnight cutoff.
